THE COLLECTION OF GOLDSMITH’S WORK
The Treasury has an unparalleled ensemble of medieval goldsmith’s work. The exhibition displays some splendid filigree chalices, monstrances from the 16th-17th centuries, and standing crosses and ciboria from the 15th-17th centuries. The most frequently used items during mass are the chalices, which the priest raises during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. In this collection in Gyöngyös, the earliest are the chalices with filigree ornamentation.
